One of our core missions is to bring back lost knowledge and ancestral-living to our community. One of our favorite ways to do so is through our sourdough classes. Keep a look out for upcoming classes on our Facebook and Instagram page or setup a private group class for the same rate with six or more people by emailing us at homesteadcollectivewaterloo@gmail.com.
Grab a bottle from our Farm Stand of our trusted local raw honey source, The Picky Bee - located in Red Bud, IL, with hives placed all over Monroe County. The Picky Bee honey is what is used in all of our recipes that contain nature's medicinal sweetener, including our sourdough granola bars, Elderberry Elixir and more!
predating the Civil War is what welcomes visitors as they pull in. This cabin was the original structure on our family's farm. Next you'll then see our new log cabin, with the greater farmstead around it, which has been in the family for more than a century. What once was a dairy and supplier for the former Waterloo Milk Company, we pray will one day serve the community in such a capacity. Your support gets us one step closer to restoring ancestral practices to the community.
Clean Living the way god intended
He gave us dominion over the plants and animals. So therefore we believe and have experienced how soul-satisfying being connected to where your food comes from can truly be. We want to bring that eternal impact to you, along with clean-living and quality ingredients to help nourish your family.
sixth generation Farm Family
We are devoted to implementing ancestral practices.
Our young family of five is the sixth generation cultivating the land on this property. Our farming roots go even deeper with farming as our family's vocation for longer than we can trace. Owner of Gregson Golf Instruction and full-time homesteader, Mitchell Gregson is a father of three young children, homeschooling on the homestead alongside his wife Teryn Gregson. After living in Florida for eight years the Waterloo natives decided to move their family back home and revive a small part of the family farm, building their new log cabin home in 2024. The new homestead quickly expanded to a large flock of laying hens and meat birds, sheep, lambs stewarded with regenerative practices. The Gregons have many future farm goals, which they have slowly begun to implement - such as planting their first test plot of organic wheat!
